The work day on the Wolf Pit trail today was a huge success. Dozens of volunteers joined the event hosted by Friends of the Mountain-to-Sea Trail, US Forest Service Grandfather District, and NC Division of Parks and Recreation. Locust logs hauled in by youth from Burke County’s BRIDGE program were placed as check dams to restore eroded trailbed. Drainage dips were dug to divert streams and rainwater off the trail. And of course there was no shortage of brush to clear. An amazing amount work was accomplished!
FMST usually has trail days on the first and second Monday of each month. For more information email Doug Veazey at doug.veazey
