Ganoderma lucidum
Looks like a hemlock varnish shelf (Ganoderma tsugae) but this is Ganoderma lucidum, identified because it’s growing on a maple rather than a hemlock. Note the dusting of brown spores fallen on the twig underneath, another ID point. (Photo: Nick)
