Seasonal Transition. “Just a brief few week ago the mountainside when viewed from this ledge were brilliant with the autumn palette of colors as WNC was in the mist of colorful leaves clinging to the branches. Now as the area moved into the cold grays and browns of winter the look is totally different, not unpleasant, just a different appearance to the greens of spring and summer and warm reds, yellows and oranges of autumn. The crowds of just a few weeks are gone also, leaving behind some semblance of solitude along the ridges and trails into the valley along the river. A time when you can clearly hear the woodland creatures and the soft rumble of the river instead of the rattle of bouncing vehicles along the road and/or the hollering, screaming hoards of the other three seasons.
