One of the best places to go swimming at Linville Gorge isn’t actually in the wilderness! Nearby Upper Creek Falls is a relatively easy hike with beautiful swimming holes and sliding rocks. It’s a great way to get that wilderness feel without the difficulty and danger of hiking down into the gorge. Wilderness volunteers took a detour today to clean up trash at Upper Creek, knowing that if more people enjoy Upper Creek then the recreational impact on Linville Gorge will be reduced.
