Today a work crew worked on the Pine Gap trail to deescalate some of the erosion on that trail! Most of this trail is in a moist cove that gets little sunlight. That, and years of neglect, have caused the trail to erode badly in places, turning parts of the trail into a slippery mudslide. Today’s crew of dedicated community volunteers and Forest Service staff, and many others over the past few years, repaired the trail in most of the bad spots, making the trail not only safer, but a much more enjoyable hike too!
